The phenomenon of "weightlessness" occurs when there is no force of support on your body. When your body is effectively in "free fall", accelerating downward at the acceleration of gravity, then you are not being supported. The sensation of apparent weight comes from the support that you feel from the floor, from the seat, etc.
The question arises that why we feel weightless or float freely in the outer space?
Since,we know that-
W=mg (1).....
Where:-
W-weight of object or the force exerted by (g) on a body (m) of unit mass.
g-acceleration due to gravity.
Now, putting g=0 (since there is no force of support on the body, g becomes negligible and in space g =0) we get:
W=m*0 or...
W=0
Therfore due to w=0 we feel weightless.
